It has been talked about for years. Athletes from practically every sport have appeared on a version of the hit show Dancing With The Stars. Tennis players have been few and far between in competing on the show. With excellent hand, eye, and foot coordination, they seem like great candidates for the show. However, a long 11-month season and other commitments prevent players from taking on this challenge.
Italian tennis player Fabio Fognini was recently a guest performer on the Italian version of the hit show. The guest performer called the Dancer for the Night, transfers the points earned from his dance to a contestant. Fognini is a showman on the tennis courts so it is not surprising to see him performing well on the dance floor. It was a lively number to Jerry Lee Lewis’s Great Balls of Fire.

Tennis players gave Fognini rave reviews for his performance. Alexander Zverev called it the best thing he saw all year. Fabio Fognini’s wife, retired tennis star Flavia Pennetta, hinted that she may join him in the ballroom soon.

Aryna Sabalenka would be a great contestant. She recently shared a dancing video joking that she was ready for the show.
