Fabio Carvalho risks wrath of Liverpool fans after picking Manchester United in FIFA video

Liverpool-bound Fabio Carvalho may not have got off on the best foot with his new club after showing a preference for Manchester United while playing FIFA.

Carvalho looks set to complete his move to Anfield this summer, having missed out on a transfer during the January window. The 19-year-old had looked to be on his way to Merseyside, only for the move to fall through after the Reds ran out of time to complete the deal on deadline day.

The Fulham star though is widely expected to complete the move during the summer, with suggestions he could sign a five-year deal at Anfield. Reports claim Carvalho has already undergone a medical with his current club’s permission, with Fulham set to receive around £5million plus add-ons.

Carvalho had also been linked with a move to Old Trafford for a brief period, with reports having suggested United were looking to hijack the deal after Liverpool missed out in January. The teenager though looks set to link up with Jurgen Klopp’s side ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Carvalho though may have some explaining to do to the Anfield faithful, having displayed a preference for United. During a video with Bleacher Report’s Jake Barford, the Lisbon-born star snubbed his expected new side in favour of their bitter rivals while playing FIFA.

“I’m gonna go with United, I need some five-star skillers,” Carvalho said as he selected his team. It’s a move that won’t do him many favours as he looks to ingratiate himself with his new club in the summer.

Carvalho has emerged as one of the brightest young talents playing in English football since bursting onto the scene back in 2020. The 19-year-old made 38 appearances in all competitions for Fulham this season, scoring 11 goals in the process as the Cottagers won promotion back to the Premier League.
