Here is your Liverpool morning digest for Wednesday, February 2.
Diaz can push Mane
Liverpool completed the deadline day signing of Luis Diaz from Porto and narrowly missed out on adding Fabio Carvalho to their ranks.
Diaz's addition is an intriguing one as it's hard to see where he fits in immediately, with the Reds blessed with a plethora of attacking talent up front.
With Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah nearing a return from the African Cup of Nations, not to mention Diogo Jota going from strength to strength, it's natural to assume that Diaz will be behind Mane going forward.
But perhaps Diaz to Mane can be what Kostas Tsimikas did to Andrew Robertson and take the Senagal attacker's game to another level.

League makes Friend decision
Liverpool's controversial penalty against Crystal Palace has had ramifications for referee Kevin Friend.
Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita collided with Jota in the final moments of the game with the Reds ahead 2-1.
Friend gave a goal kick at first but after consulting with VAR, awarded Liverpool a penalty.
“I don’t even want to talk about it. That was a really poor decision from the referee," an irate Palace boss Patrick Viera said after the final whistle.
And that decision has cost Friend a round of Premier League fixtures this weekend.
