Fabinho has revealed he always planned to take a Panenka penalty in the League Cup final against Chelsea, and even promised Luis Diaz he would do so before the game - not that the Liverpool winger believed him.
The Brazilian was one of 11 successful penalty takers for the Reds last month at Wembley as Kepa's miss saw them beat Thomas Tuchel's side to win their first trophy of the season.
Confidently scoring Liverpool' s second spot-kick with his chipped effort against the Spaniard, the 28-year-old's effort set tongues wagging and was arguably the pick of the bunch against Chelsea.

And speaking to reporters ahead of the Reds' Champions League clash with Inter Milan, Fabinho revealed what was going through his head as he stepped up to take his penalty and his new team-mate's role in his decision.
"The day before I tried to do a Panenka. It was just me and Luis Diaz with no goalkeeper in the goal," the 28-year-old revealed.
"I tried to shoot like this and I told him, 'Tomorrow if it goes to pens, I will shoot like this.'

"He didn't believe me! But when I was walking to the ball to take that penalty, I was in my mind that I will shoot a Panenka. Yes, it worked.
"When you shoot a penalty like this, you have to know if you miss, maybe you can't go into the dressing room because everyone will kill you!
"In my mind I was like, 'I will take like this. Let's do this!' That's it."
