Fabinho masterclass in Liverpool win summed up by four words from wife Rebeca Tavares

Fabinho maintained his fine form in a Liverpool shirt on Sunday afternoon as Jurgen Klopp's side secured a crucial three points away to Crystal Palace.

The Brazilian midfielder was a doubt heading into today's match at Selhurst Park after picking up what the Liverpool boss described as a 'proper knock' during Thursday's win at Arsenal.

But the former Monaco man was deemed fit to play and delivered for the team in the dying embers of the match.

PLAYER RATINGS: Alisson and Andy Robertson excellent against Crystal Palace

Awarded somewhat of a controversial penalty after Vicente Guaita collided with Diogo Jota, Fabinho assumed responsibility from the penalty spot and made no mistake from 12 yards to seal a 3-1 victory.

This finish has maintained his goalscoring streak for the Reds, having now found been on target four times in his last five outings for the club.

Fabinho bagged a brace in Liverpool's 4-1 FA Cup triumph over Shrewsbury Town, which he followed up with a back-post header in a 3-0 league win over Brentford one week later.

And with Mohamed Salah still away on international duty, the 28-year-old was the player who stepped up to take the spot-kick against Palace this afternoon.

This is not the first time the Brazil international has stepped up in other areas of the pitch from his natural position, however.

Fabinho was deployed at centre-back on occasions last season as the Reds grappled with their defensive injury crisis, a challenge he duly rose to.

After delivering the goods once again, his wife - Rebeca - took to Twitter to pay respect to his all-round quality.

"CB + midfielder + striker = Fabinho," she wrote.

This latest contribution to the team in the final third marked his third league goal of the campaign - the same number of strikes he managed in his previous three seasons at the club combined.
