According to Liverpool ace Fabinho there are too many Brazilians joining the wrong team in the Premier League. With a World Cup in Qatar upon us, supporters are treated to their favourite stars getting a little bit more loose-lipped with their comments.
It always happens on international duty. When players go away with their clubs, the shackles come off somewhat and it becomes a free-for-all with journalists quizzing players on their club form, upcoming transfers and more.
The World Cup will be no different. And things have already started it seems, with Fabinho the latest to have his say on what's happening in the Premier League.

The Liverpool star is part of the Brazil squad, who are highly fancied to win the tournament in Qatar this winter. And there are a plethora of other Premier League stars with him - the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal, Richarlison from Tottenham and Antony, Fred and Casemiro from Manchester United, to name but a few.
Antony is the most recent addition to the Premier League, joining Erik ten Hag's revoluion from Ajax. And Fabinho aimed a dig at the Manchester United stars in an interview with UOL.
His jibe could have been aimed at the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli at Arsenal too.
Talking about Casemiro, he said: "When I left and saw him winning opportunities at Real, I always sent him a congratulatory message. Regardless of whether we compete for position, we get along very well. He had already commented that he’d like to play in the Premier League.
"Too bad he went to the wrong place in England, huh? I hope he doesn’t improve Manchester United that much. He, Fred, Antony, there are a lot of Brazilians going to the wrong place in the country."
Fabinho was clearly taking aim at the United stars, given their historic rivalry, but with Arsenal top of the Premier League table at Christmas, he may very well have been incorporating the Gunners' duo in that claim that they have been joining the wrong team in the country. Particularly Martinelli, after Jurgen Klopp's overwhelming admiration for the young frontman.
The German has previously lauded Martinelli, calling him the "talent of the century". After an incredible 5-5 Carabao Cup draw in 2019, Klopp said of Martinelli: "Martinelli’s pretty much the same age [as Liverpool defender Sepp Van De Berg] but he’s a talent of the century, he’s an incredible striker, so it’s really difficult. It was not in this game only. I watch a lot of football, so I saw the Europa League games of Arsenal."
Klopp then spoke highly of the Brazilian frontman once more after Liverpool's 2-0 Premier League win last season, albeit in a staunch defence of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
He said: "Apart from the diagonal balls to Martinelli which Trent defended incredibly, the boy Martinelli is such a talented boy, really tricky and if anybody says Trent can't defend they can come to me and I will knock them down because I cannot hear that anymore, I don't know what the boy has to do!"
