Fabian Ruiz may have already hinted at next move amid Arsenal transfer links

Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz has previously hinted at where his next move could be amid links to Arsenal.

The Gunners are in need of options in the middle of the park given Mohamed Elneny is into the final five months of his contract at the club whilst Granit Xhaka continues to be linked with a move to Serie A outfit AS Roma.

In fact, football.london has learnt that Xhaka is open to joining Jose Mourinho's side this summer if a move can be thrashed out despite penning a new deal at the Emirates Stadium last year following months of speculation surrounding his future.

Leicester City star Youri Tielemans has been linked with a move to north London but now The Mirror have reported that the club are keen on Napoli playmaker Ruiz, who is into the final 17 months of his contract with the Italian side.

The report claims that representatives from the club have met with the player's agents in an attempt to understand his demands, but he may have already hinted that a move back to Spanish would be his preference.

Both Real Madrid and Barcelona are said to be interested in the 24-year-old, with Los Blancos' manager Carlo Ancelotti reportedly rating the talented midfielder highly after enjoying 18 months together in Naples.

"It’s flattering to hear about these clubs' interest in me, that's for sure," the Spanish international said last week when asked about reported interest from the La Liga giants.

"Right now, I only think of Napoli, I am very comfortable here and we have big challenges ahead. The idea of returning to Spain in the future is always present: it is my home."
