In a shocking incident that unfolded on Friday, an Alaska Airlines flight experienced a terrifying ordeal when a panel, including a window, suddenly blew out mid-air, creating a gaping hole in the side of the aircraft. The incident occurred just 20 minutes after takeoff from Portland, Oregon. It is reported that a young boy's shirt was even sucked out of the aircraft through the hole while his mother desperately held onto him.
Upon inspection, it was revealed that the affected aircraft was a Boeing 737 MAX 9, which is now facing mandatory grounding by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The FAA issued the order for immediate inspection of the MAX 9 planes. It is noteworthy that Alaska Airlines has reported that 18 of their MAX 9 planes have been inspected and have since returned to service, though it remains unclear whether this action was part of the FAA's mandate.
