The FA has confirmed that Fulham attacker Aleksandar Mitrovic will receive a lengthier ban than the standard three-match suspension for his red card in Sunday’s FA Cup clash against Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Cottagers boss Marco Silva is set to face punishment on several counts after he too was shown a red card in the second half of the 3-1 United win. Willian’s straight red card for handling the ball to prevent Jadon Sancho’s shot finding the net prompted a furious reaction from Fulham players and coaching staff.
Silva was then given a sent off from the touchline for his protests with Mitrovic also given his marching orders for pushing referee Chris Kavanagh after his manager had been dismissed. The FA released a statement regarding the passage of the match on Monday evening, saying Fulham, Silva and Mitrovic had all been charged with alleged offences.
