F1 fans can now own a piece of Suzuka as track undergoes changes ahead of 2026 Japanese GP

Formula 1 fans have the opportunity to own a piece of the Suzuka Circuit as the home of the Japanese Grand Prix undergoes track changes ahead of the 2026 race.

The Suzuka Circuit is being resurfaced in parts, so the track will be selling the asphalt, although the price is yet to be confirmed.

"Due to the road resurfacing construction on the Suzuka Circuit West Course, we will be selling the 'asphalt' from the racing course that has hosted various major races such as F1 and the Suzuka 8 Hours," the circuit posted on X.

"The image shows one scene from the extraction process. Details such as price will be announced again at a later date."

"Oh! It's the core, huh. About 20 centimeters, right? Surprisingly, it's quite substantial," one fan commented, while another added: "If you put your mind to it, you can turn anything into a product these days."

Others urged the circuit to opt for a lower price. "Please produce a lot and lower the price," one fan wrote, and another added: "But, it's probably expensive, right? (TV shopping program style)."

The 2026 Japanese Grand Prix is set for 27-29 March.

The 2025 Japanese Grand Prix was the third round of the season. After starting from pole position, Max Verstappen went on to claim the victory, with McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri completing the podium in second and third, respectively. The race also marked Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda's first race as Verstappen's team-mate at Red Bull after he replaced Liam Lawson. Tsunoda finished 12th.

While the surface of the track didn't pose much of an issue, grass fires caused several red flags during the free practice sessions.

In addition to F1, Suzuka also hosts the Japanese Super Formula, Suzuka 8 Hours, Intercontinental GT Challenge, Super GT and motorcycle racing.
