Gucci, Fendi, Prada and Versace are among the big Italian f ashion houses. The boot- shaped country is as prolific in jewellery maisons offering fine gioielli in various styles.
A curated selection sparkles at the multi-brand store Scintilla Gioielli located on Siam Paragon’s M Floor. The reopening of the renovated store coincided with the 30th anniversary of Scintilla Gioielli, now run by second-generation Sareena Teeravithayapinyo.
“For some 30 years, we have offered fine and high jewellery to clients who favour Italian style, charm and glamour. The distinctive designs and quality of materials along with Italian tradition, know-how and consummate craftsmanship further appeal to our clients,” said Sareena.
Founded in Naples in 1888 and now led by the fourth generation, Tessitore still produces tubogas jewellery by hand in the traditional way.
Other long-established brands include Scavia and Fope founded respectively in 1911 and 1929.
Limited to 50 pieces, a dainty ring with budding and blooming flowers embellished with precious stones showcase the meticulous craftsmanship of Milan-based Scavia.
Known for flexible gold jewellery, Fope was founded in Vicenza, which along with Valenza and Arezzo is one of the three historic jewellery-making hubs in Italy.
Fope’s Flex’it system was originally introduced for Eka bracelets. The Super Eka capsule collection is a sophisticated take on the first design for a collection of pavé diamond necklace, bracelet and earrings.
Mattia Cielo is known for moving jewels, characterised by lightness and flexibility. The latest technology is combined with ancestral goldsmithing craftmanship to materialise the fluid and weightless designs.
Hand engraving and twisted coil are Marco Bicego’s signature techniques along with a mix of precious stones in varying shades. Its Lunaria collection is named after a flower, whose petals inspire the silhouette of gold earrings, necklace and bracelet.
A native of Valenza, Carlo Palmiero established his eponymous maison in 1979. Since 2007, the brand’s sculptural haute couture jewellery is crafted at its laboratory atelier. Inspirations include the beauty of nature, which is celebrated by exquisite jewellery evoking flora and fauna.
Valenza-based Pasquale Bruni and Florentine Annamaria Cammilli are among the other Italian brands whose latest collections are available at Scintilla Gioielli.
