Police have launched a fresh appeal to find a missing woman who vanished near an Ayrshire loch one week ago.
Mary Monkman was last spotted driving near to Loch Doon around 4pm on Friday, June 16 2023.
The 49-year-old from Cumbria is believed to have travelled to the Loch Doon area in her car, a red Nissan Juke, registration L400 MGM.
Cops have released a new picture of Mary, showing what she was wearing at the time.
She is described as being around 5ft 10ins with long, wavy auburn hair which she often wears in a bun, she also wears glasses.
In the latest images released of Mary can be seen wearing a green and white floral top and blue leggings.
Inspector Jennifer McCulloch said: “Officers, assisted by other resources, have been carrying out extensive searches in the area of Loch Doon since Mary was reported missing. Despite these efforts and previous appeals, we have yet to trace Mary.
“This is a very difficult time for Mary’s family as it is completely out of character for her to go missing. We are continuing to search the area in which she was last seen.
“I would ask anyone who lives in the area or who was in the area on Friday, 16 June, to cast their mind back and see if they remember seeing Mary or someone matching her description in the area.
“I would encourage anyone who has seen Mary since Friday, June 16, or who has any information on her whereabouts to contact us as soon as possible quoting reference 2648 of Saturday, June 17, 2023.”
