‘Exquisite’ photo detail of Esa’s 3D colour galaxies - Tech & Science Daily podcast

The European Space Agency has released a series of detailed cosmic photographs that were snapped by the telescope on Esa’s Euclid probe.

One image shows 1,000 galaxies in the Perseus Cluster, which is a quarter of a billion light years away, the Orion constellation’s Horsehead Nebula and a globular cluster of about 400,000 ancient stars.

Euclid is floating about a million miles above Earth, as part of a six-year mission to create the most extensive three-dimensional map of the universe.
