'Exquisite' - Kieran Tierney handed rave review after stunning Real Sociedad debut

Scotland star Kieran Tierney was labelled 'exquisite' by Real Sociedad boss Imanol Alguacil after an outstanding La Liga debut for his new club.

The 26-year-old former Celtic hero has moved to Spain after being frozen out at Arsenal and made his bow in an entertaining 5-3 win over Granada, where he lasted 69 minutes before being subbed.

And long-term Sociedad manager Alguacil, who has been in charge of the San Sebastian club for five years, was impressed with Tierney.

He said: "For Kieran, our way of playing is very similar to Arsenal's.

"He has enormous experience because he comes from a top team and a top league. So his debut did not surprise me.

"Kieran has fitted in very well and technically he is exquisite and he has a very high level when it comes to defending.

"He is Scottish in the tackle - by that I mean very committed - and he is able to raise his head and decide the best options when on the ball.

"He is going to get even better because he is very impulsive, yet knows when to go in for a tackle and when not to. I think he can go even further as a player.

"Kieran will be a big player for us and is going to contribute a lot."
