Update:
EVERYONE involved in a three-car crash on the Hunter Expressway on Thursday afternoon managed to walk away without serious injuries.
An Ambulance NSW spokeswoman confirmed multiple crews had rushed to the scene at Cameron Park, near Newcastle, about 3pm.
Two patients were assessed at the scene, including a 54-year-old man who had suffered an injury to his head.
No one was taken to hospital, the spokeswoman said.
The crash had caused one of two southbound lanes to close on the Hunter Expressway, but it was back open later in the afternoon and traffic was beginning to ease by about 4.30pm.
Travellers in the area were urged to exercise caution and expect some delays.
Transport for NSW and Rural Fire Service (RFS) crews were also deployed to the crash site.

EMERGENCY services have rushed to the scene of a multi-car crash which has caused significant delays for southbound traffic on the Hunter Expressway.
An Ambulance NSW spokesperson confirmed multiple crews had rushed to the scene at Cameron Park, west of Newcastle, after emergency calls for help about 3pm.
It is unknown at this stage how many patients are being assessed.
Live Traffic NSW updates show the major road was initially closed to all southbound traffic about five kilometres before the M1 turnoff, but one of two lanes had reopened by about 3.45pm.
Traffic was heavy in the area and drivers were urged to be cautious travelling in the area while emergency services continue to work at the scene.
Delays should be expected for anyone heading south on the Hunter Expressway in the Cameron Park, Stockrington areas.
Transport for NSW crews were also deployed to the crash site, along with the Rural Fire Service.
