Several members of the Iranian-backed Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), also known as Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), sustained injuries following a series of explosions at a military base located south of Baghdad. The incident was confirmed by Muhannad al-Anazi, a member of the Security Committee in Babylon Governorate.
The explosions took place at the headquarters of the PMU at the Kalsu military base in the Al-Mashrou district on the highway, north of the Babylon Governorate. The PMU released a brief statement acknowledging the occurrence of the explosion, which resulted in material damages and injuries to personnel.
An investigation team has been dispatched to the site to assess the situation further. The PMU assured that more details would be provided once the initial investigation is concluded.
It is important to note that Israeli officials have denied any involvement in the reported explosions in Iraq on the evening of Friday.
