NEW DELHI: With certain states opting to revert to the old pay-as-you-go (PAYG) pension scheme and some others deliberating upon it, a report by State Bank of India (SBI) economists on Thursday said that it is bound to increase the current expenditure of state governments.
Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh have already reverted to the old pension scheme. The Congress party is demanding the same in Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Telangana.
