NEW DELHI: The government could garner over Rs 1 lakh crore if it continues to levy cess/duty on production of petroleum crude, and on export of petrol, diesel, and ATF for the rest of fiscal 2023.
On Friday, the government slapped an export tax on petrol, diesel and jet fuel (ATF) shipped overseas by firms like Reliance Industries, and imposed a windfall tax on crude oil produced locally by companies such as ONGC and Vedanta.
