Taylor Lautner now has the exact same name as his new wife after he tied the knot with his long-term girlfriend a fortnight ago. The Twilight star married Taylor Dome at a grand affair at Epoch Estate Wines, outside of Paso Robles, California on Friday, November 11 - exactly one year after the couple got engaged.
Taylor, 30, dressed in a black tuxedo for the occasion while Taylor, 24, now also Taylor Lautner, stunned in a lace gown with a matching veil. The pair have the actor's sister, Makena Moore, to thank for their relationship as it is how they met.
They were introduced when Taylor was taking a break from work. "I wanted to take a step back and enjoy life and spend some time with my family and friends," he told PEOPLE. "And I met my fiancée out of it, so it all worked out."
While appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show earlier this year, Lautner confirmed that Dome would take his last name - and shared how they navigate both being named Taylor.
Lautner said that he goes by Taylor and she goes by Tay, before adding: "Or a lot of people just do 'boy Tay' and 'girl Tay.'"
In another interview, he added: "I left it up to her. I was like you, you do whatever you want to do. But she wants to take my name. So, it’s going to be very confusing, for sure.”
Actor Lautner has also dated another Taylor - as he previously dated singer Taylor Swift.
Speaking to Slate, Brett Pelham, a psychology professor, said there may be a reason that contributed to why the couple were attracted to each other - implicit egotism.
"We are strongly attracted, for reasons we’re not typically aware of, to anything that resembles really any aspect of the self, from our name, to our birthday number, to our street address growing up, to the names of loved ones like siblings and parents,” he said.
"One of the ways a person can have a ‘type’ is they like their own names,” Pelham added. "This is a little stack of evidence if he’s done this twice now.”
Taylor and Taylor went public with their romance in 2018 before he popped the big question three years later in November 2021.
Sharing the news on Instagram, The Abduction star said: "And just like that, all of my wishes came true," alongside a series of proposal pictures.
Unlike his showbiz exes, Taylor has lived a regular life outside of Hollywood.
His new wife is actually a qualified nurse and Taylor provided support during her training, helping her revise for her exams.
In a sweet Instagram post of the pair pictured at her graduation, she thanked him for his commitment to helping her succeed.
"Thank you for encouraging me when I felt like quitting," she wrote.
"Thank you for all the meals you'd make me when I was too busy studying. Thank you for quizzing me and trying to pronounce medical terms and abbreviations".
Taylor is also a mental health advocate, using her social media platform to raise awareness and launched LEMONS by Tay in January 2022 - a self-care and mental health website.
Likewise, she has also publicly shown support for her husband's acting career and is known to have been a huge fan of the Twilight franchise.
But hilariously admitted she was in fact #TeamEdward.
In June of this year, she shared a video of the confession, taking part in the 'show your childhood crush and then the person you ended up with' trend.
The clip began with images of Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen before cutting to photos of Lautner, who played Edward's rival, Jacob Black.
"I think it's time to come clean …" she captioned the post. Lautner responded: "Bout time I won something."
