Experts explain why June saw an ‘unusual’ house price fall

The average asking price for a home in Britain experienced a 0.6 per cent decline in June, equating to a £2,113 reduction, marking the most significant drop recorded for this month in 14 years, according to a property website.

This month-on-month fall brought the average asking price across the country to £376,191, Rightmove reported. The property portal noted that June typically sees modest price increases. It suggested that an unseasonably warm May might have initiated the usual summer slowdown earlier than expected this year, while the World Cup could also be distracting some potential home movers.
