Expert warning over MOT failure which is higher in Nottinghamshire than the national average

The MOT failure rate is higher in Nottinghamshire than the national average. It comes after data from the DVSA shows that over the last year Nottinghamshire has a failure rate of 31.17% compared to the national 29.21%.

The data combines the 589,322 MOT tests taken in NG postcodes between 2021 and 2022. It has revealed that the most common failure reason for cars in Nottinghamshire is lamps, reflectors and electrical equipment.

Just over 73,000 cars across Nottinghamshire failed for this reason. The least common reason in the area is road wheels where 2,239 cars failed.
