Expert says turning down electricity to 220V cuts seven per cent off bills

An energy expert who predicted the current crisis says the Government has urged ministers to 'turn down'the UK's voltage in a bid to ease spiralling bills. Corin Dalby, founder and CEO of not-for-profit energy consultancy Box Power , says we cannot afford to hope for the best, describing the current crisis as a ‘travesty’.

Corin said: “We need to be on a war-footing and not just hope we will sail through without a hitch. The current crisis is a travesty and will get worse without intervention.”

Corin has urged ministers to consider reducing the country’s voltage supplies as that could reduce the energy going through the system as well as shave significant amounts of money off people’s bills.
