Matthew explained that radiators have a convertor fan inside which can become clogged with dust - meaning less heat gets emitted making them less energy efficient.
Research from Enertek International concluded that a dusty radiator could cause increases of up to 25%.
Matthew said the simplest way to unclog a heating system is by placing a towel on the floor and using a hairdryer to blow any trapped dust away.
