Expert picks and predictions for Cardinals-Vikings in Week 8

The Arizona Cardinals will take on the Minnesota Vikings Sunday in an early Week 8 game on the road. They have not beaten the Vikings in Minnesota since 1977.

Arizona, coming off a 42-34 win over the New Orleans Saints last week, can win consecutive games for the first time this season.

I don’t quite believe in the Vikings yet. Their wins aren’t convincing to me and I think the Cardinals are going to round into form with Hopkins back. Kirk Cousins will make a mistake or two and Minnesota’s defense will struggle to stop Arizona consistently.

Cardinals 30, Vikings 27

This game means so much for the Cardinals. They have the opportunity to get back to .500 and possibly be buyers at the deadline the next day. The Vikings, while talented, have benefitted from an extremely easy schedule to open up the season. The only challenging game for them was against Philadelphia and they were completely embarrassed. The Cardinals offense finally has their No. 1 wideout back in DeAndre Hopkins and he will look to exploit a suspect Vikings secondary. Defensively, the Cardinals have done an excellent job against opposing No. 1 receivers and will look to replicate that formula against Justin Jefferson. I think Arizona wins a close one on the road, where they’ve been at their best the past year or so.

Tyler Forness, Vikings Wire

Vikings 28, Cardinals 23

Last year’s game was tremendous with both teams putting up a lot of points. The Vikings were about three yards to the right of winning the game with a Greg Joseph field goal. The Vikings being at home will be the difference as the Vikings extend their winning streak to five.

Bob McManaman, AZCentral Sport

Cardinals 33, Vikings 24

I think the Cardinals do have a shot. I think, knowing that Minnesota hasn’t scored more than 30, I think Arizona untracks itself and they get 33, but Minnesota can’t keep up with that.

Jose Romero, AZCentral Sports

Cardinals 27, Vikings 22

Kent Somers, AZCentral Sports

Vikings 27, Cardinals 24

I think the Cardinals are going to be in this but I gotta go with the history of the Vikings winning at home. And this is the beginning of a month that will define their season.
