An expert has warned that how your dry your clothes could lead to a rise in bills, and cause unwanted mould.
As the weather remains somewhat unsettled, this leaves for difficulty in drying clothes inside. With many households opting for a clothes horse, some may choose to stick wet items on a radiator to speed up the process.
But experts have warned that could be causing more harm than good for several reasons. Not only could this be causing your bills to skyrocket, but it could also trigger condensation, leading to mould, the Mirror reports.

Interior Expert Owen Whitlock at Beanbags.co.uk, said: "While hanging wet clothes over your radiators will dry them, this could cause excess condensation in your home. This will lead to mould which can create all kinds of damage including staining paintwork, not to mention the allergens that mould can produce.
"As well as this it could increase the cost of your heating bill. Hanging clothes over the top of your radiator will prevent it from heating your house, which means the boiler will need to work harder than it needs to, therefore increasing its running costs."
Mr Whitlock has shared his top tips on how to dry your clothes indoors, without using a dryer - which is also costly to run. Top tips include:
- Make the most of the sunlight and was clothes early and place near natural light
- Turn over clothes if drying on an airer, which is a common mistake people make, as they should be turned over every couple of hours
- Consider drying on a hanger, leaving few creases
- Use lavender oil in with fabric conditioner to combat any unwanted smells from drying indoors
- Wash fewer clothes per load as too many items will take them longer to dry and more likely to smell damp
