Safety experts have issued a stern warning to UK residents who own tumble dryers in a bid to reduce the number of house fires.
According to new research, just one in twelve (8%) clean their appliance's lint filter just once a year or less - with one in 20 admitting that they never clean them at all. This could have devastating consequences, increasing the chances of a malfunction leading to a full-blown fire.
In-turn, Brits are being urged to make sure they clean theirs as part of their spring cleaning session - with financial figures revealing how costly tumble dryer fires can be.
