Every motorist dreads the fuel warning light popping up, especially if they are in an unfamiliar area and aren't sure about how near the next petrol station is.
New research has found that 42 percent of drivers wait until their warning light comes on before refuelling their car. With that in mind, some may be wondering exactly how much fuel is left in the tank when that light comes on and whether or not it's safe to run a car until it's near-empty.
Tim Rodie, driving expert at Motorpoint, has shared how much petrol or diesel is left when the fuel light comes on as well as the reason you should refuel with a quarter tank.
