Leeds United return to action this evening as they kick off their pre-season campaign with a friendly against Blackpool. The Whites will face the Championship side at York City’s York Community Stadium Leisure Complex looking to begin pre-season with a win.
It has been 10 days since several members of Leeds’ squad made their return to Thorp Arch, and it is they who will be involved tonight. The internationals in Jesse Marsch’s side came back from their holidays on Monday and so are unlikely to be involved, though Leeds could be forced to include Illan Meslier and Kristoffer Klaesson as their goalkeeper options.
Leeds are also relatively short at the back meaning Cody Drameh, Robin Koch, Pascal Struijk and Junior Firpo may be the only defenders in the squad. There is a chance Leif Davis and Jamie Shackleton could be included, however reports are gathering pace the former is on his way to Ipswich Town, while the latter has been heavily linked with a loan switch to the Championship.

Marsch is far more spoilt for choice in midfield, with supporters set to get their first taste of Marc Roca in action. Adam Forshaw, Lewis Bate, Archie Gray, Sam Greenwood and Rodrigo Moreno are all set to be included too.
As far as wide options are concerned Jack Harrison and Crysencio Summerville seem shoo-ins to be selected, while Ian Poveda is another option and youngster Amari Miller may involved. Completing the squad in attack is Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt, though it would not be a surprise to see U21s strikers Mateo Joseph and Max Dean make the bench.
Experienced duo Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas are both continuing their recoveries from injury.
Expected squad: Meslier, Klaesson, Shackleton, Drameh, Koch, Struijk, Firpo, Davis, Roca, Forshaw, Bate, Gray, Greenwood, Summerville, Poveda, Miller, Rodrigo, Harrison, Bamford, Gelhardt, Joseph, Dean
