Expectations of US Tariff Cuts Weigh on Cocoa Prices

December ICE NY cocoa (CCZ25) on Thursday closed down -138 (-2.45%), and December ICE London cocoa #7 (CAZ25) closed down -60 (-1.44%).

Cocoa prices extended their week-long slide on Thursday, with NY cocoa falling to a 1.75-year nearest-futures low and London cocoa dropping to a 3-week low. Expectations of possible tariff cuts are weighing on cocoa prices after US Treasury Secretary Bessent said Wednesday that there would be "substantial announcements over the next couple of days" on tariffs on crops not grown in the US, including cocoa.
