KOLKATA: When Odisha's Kishore Jena threw the javelin to 80.55m on Friday, it not only helped him qualify for the final round to be held on Sunday but it also brought tears of joy to his father's eyes, who had sacrificed a lot to make sure his son grows up to be successful in life.
A rice farmer by profession, Jena's father Keshab now cannot wait for the final which will be held at 11.45pm IST on Sunday. Not only the Jena family, but the entire country will have their eyes glued on their screens. It's after all the first time that the final of a Worlds event will see three Indians take part together and Jena's coach Samarjeet Singh Malhi believes the Puri athlete has it in him to make the final eight.
