Vicky Kaushal's next film on Sam Manekshaw with Meghna Gulzar is already making headlines for the past few months. Featuring Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Sheikh in pivotal roles, 'Sam Bahadur' revolves around the country's first Field Marshal who was the Chief of the Army Staff during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War.
A source close to the film reveals, "The team will soon start the prep needed before beginning the shoot. The actors will start preparing for their characters this month. However, the film will go on floors in August 2022 as the first schedule of the film has been lined up." The film is being bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvala under his banner RSVP Movies.
While Vicky portrays the titular role in 'Sam Bahadur', 'Badhaai Ho!' actress Sanya Malhotra plays Silloo Manekshaw and Fatima Sana Sheikh will be seen as Smt Indira Gandhi. Interestingly, this will be the second time Sanya and Fatima will share the screen space after playing siblings in 'Dangal'. Earlier, they were seen together in Anurag Kashyap's 'Ludo'.
Professionally, Vicky recently finished shooting for Laxman Utekar’s yet-untitled project alongside Sara Ali Khan. He also has 'The Immortal Ashwatthama' being directed by Aditya Dhar.
