RISE, a cannabis brand focused on wellness-based products, and Ghostbudsters Farm, a cultivation group focused on growing premium flower with unique strain offerings, are teaming up to raise awareness for those affected by breast cancer and to build knowledge about how RSO (Rick Simpson Oil) can help, Benzinga has learned exclusively.
What Happened
Launched in time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the “Collaboration with Compassion” campaign builds upon the worldwide objective of raising awareness about the impact of breast cancer.
In conjunction, this specific program aims to educate consumers, as well as non-consumers, about the health benefits of RSO – one of the original wellness-focused cannabis products. This will be the third iteration of “Collaboration with Compassion” executed by RISE in 2022.
Why It Matters
The National Breast Cancer Foundation estimates there will be 338,900 new cases of breast cancer diagnosed in American women during 2022 alone, with nearly 10,000 of those cases diagnosed in Michigan.
There are currently over 3.8 million breast cancer survivors in the United States. Complementary pain management solutions are often recommended to ease discomfort caused by illness or treatment side effects.
“We’re excited to give back to the community through such a positive program,” said Dr. Jonathan Kane, Chief Scientific Officer at RISE. “Our goal through Collaboration with Compassion is to provide free RSO to those who currently use RSO, are interested in using RSO, or may not have access to RSO. We are fortunate to be able to provide this opportunity during October for Breast Cancer Awareness, through the support of cultivation partners like Ghostbudsters Farm, who share similar values as us when it comes to giving back to the community. This is the third time RISE has provided free RSO and we plan to continue these types of projects with like-minded cultivation and retail partners as a way to give back to those using cannabis as medicine.”
How RSO Works
RSO, a potent and therapeutic cannabis extract, is known to aid in pain management and relief in relation to cancer. Patients and consumers already utilizing RSO, or those interested in trying it, will have access to a free 1g RSO syringe.
This limited-time offer will be available at participating dispensary locations in Michigan while supplies last.
“Giving back to the community has always been a personal priority. Having come from the legacy market, and expanding my involvement in the licensed market, I am blessed to be in a position to help more people on a larger scale. This Breast Cancer campaign touches me personally as my grandmother had to face the tough battle against breast cancer without the relief that RSO provides as she was not able to access itm” said Christopher Michael, Owner of Ghostbudster Farms. “I think it is a wonderful thing that we are able to partner with leading marijuana retailers and brands to help supply a natural and effective remedy to help relieve the unfortunate symptoms they have to battle each and every day.”
RISE and Ghostbudsters Farm plan to give away over 6,000 1g RSO syringes across 42 retail locations in Michigan. Participating retail partners include Puff, Joyology, Pure Options, The Greenhouse, Dispo, Fire Creek, and JARS. Patients suffering from breast cancer or other health challenges can visit any participating locations for more information about RSO.
