JP McManus' commitment to Limerick GAA remains as strong as ever insists Limerick County Chairman John Cregan.
A number of rumours surfaced online last week that McManus had decided to withhold funding following a falling out with the county board. The rumours garnered huge attention online with one tweet in particular receiving nearly 3,000 likes. However, Mr Cregan has moved to dismiss these rumours.
"There are no truth to these rumours whatsoever," said Mr Cregan to The Irish Daily Mirror. "Our relationship with our sponsors is as strong as ever.

"We have absolutely no intention to change sponsors. I have no idea where these rumours have come from."
One of the richest men in Ireland, Mr McManus has a reported net worth of around €1 billion and is one of the most famous horse racing owners in the world and his stables have housed iconic horses such as Istabraq, Minella Times and Buveur D’Air.
McManus, a former major shareholder in Manchester United, has been a long-time supporter of GAA in Limerick and has played a key role in sponsoring the hurling team down through the years.
And it's not only Limerick who have benefitted from McManus' generosity. In 2018, after Limerick won the Senior All Ireland Hurling Championship for the first time in 45 years, the 71-year-old donated €100,000 to every county board in the country.
Limerick have attained an almost unparalleled level of success in recent years, winning four titles in the past five seasons.
Fans of the Treaty county will be hoping that this puts an end to speculation, and that John Kiely's men can get back to focusing on preparing for another crack at the Liam McCarthy Cup.
