East Kilbride youngsters are being encouraged to learn new skills with their local Army Cadet Force.
The Army Cadets offers young people lots of exciting opportunities - from developing self esteem and becoming young leaders to exploring different parts of the world - whilst making friends and memories that will last a lifetime.
The packed syllabus covers drill, signals, adventure training, skill at arms, shooting, sports, navigation and expeditions.
Plus Cadets and adults can learn to play a musical instrument in either the pipes and drums, or in the massed band.
You can also take part in the Duke of Edinburgh award, and earn SQA qualifications in teamwork and citizenship, personal development, and leadership.
There are also foreign exchanges, battlefield tours, a two-week annual camp and various weekend camps and activities throughout the year.
The Army Cadet Force meets on Monday and Thursday nights from 7 till 9.30pm, at the Army reserve centre, Kitchener House, Yarrow Park, East Kilbride.
If you are aged 12 to 17, you can sign up as a cadet at Cadet Expression of Interest Form | Army Cadets UK
Or if you are over 18 and interested in being an instructor you can join at Adult Expression of Interest Form | Army Cadets UK
