Undefeated heavyweight prospect Jared Anderson will take on German veteran Christian Hammer on the undercard of Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte's world heavyweight Championship fight at Wembley on April 23. Hammer, (26-9) is a well known name for UK fight fans having recently fought Hughie Fury in Newcastle back in October 2021, retiring in the fifth round.
He was also the last man Fury fought on the way to his first heavyweight title win over Vladimir Klitschko in 2015, losing to the future world champion after retiring in the eighth round. He will face American heavyweight prospect Jared Anderson, who has won all eleven of his bouts and fights in the UK for the first time here and previously fought on the undercard of Fury vs Deontay Wilder.
The fight pits the youthful promise of the 22-year-old Anderson up against the seasoned campaigner Hammer, 34. Although, the fight may play into the hands of Anderson, facing up against the German who has lost four of his last six fights with any defeat here likely to be the last on the big stage for a good servant to European boxing.

According to promoter Bob Arum, Anderson has been training in the UK as part of Fury's training camp, sparring with the World Champion and will get the chance to fight on the big stage here with up to 100,000 fans expected at Wembley. Hammer meanwhile comes in off a unanimous decision defeat to another heavyweight contender Frank Sanchez on the Luis Ortiz vs Charles Martin undercard in January.
Arum has been talking up Anderson, who has recently beaten: Oleksandr Teslenko, Vladimir Tereshkin, Jeremiah Karpency, and Kingsley Ibeh. He told Thaboxingvoice : “He’s fighting Christian Hammer. It’s a big step up for Jared.
“He leaves this weekend to go to England to spar Tyson. Tyson says there’s nobody like him for sparring. Yeah, we look at Jared without any question as a future heavyweight champion.
