Harry Kane should move to Newcastle United to win a trophy and erase Alan Shearer's name from history by becoming the Premier League's all-time leading goalscorer. That is the mischievous view of Neil Ruddock, who has also made the exciting prediction the Magpies' could be at the same level as champions Manchester City in four years' time.
Shearer remains top of the division's all-time scoring chart with a return of 260 goals from his time with Blackburn Rovers and the Magpies. The legendary number nine went on to surpass Jackie Milburn's tally and also become the record goalscorer for his boyhood club.
However, Shearer's status as the Premier League's top marksman looks in serious doubt after another stunning season for Kane. Despite Tottenham's struggles, the England captain netted 30 league goals to move above Wayne Rooney and into second in the rankings.

Kane now trails Shearer by 47 goals, but is facing another summer of intense transfer speculation as he approaches the final year of his contract. The Newcastle legend has previously joked the Tottenham striker should move abroad in order to preserve his Premier League record.
Ruddock admits Shearer is one of his 'besties', but the former Liverpool defender has joked he is annoyed by his friend's goalscoring pedigree and his records. The pundit insists Kane should make therefore make the move to Newcastle, and no only take Shearer's top-flight record but also help the club to lift silverware.
Ruddock told talkSPORT: "I think he should go to Newcastle. Newcastle in four years are going to be the new Man City, and I love Alan Shearer, we're very, very close.
"I want him [Kane] to go to Newcastle and break Shearer's Premier League record, and then win something with Newcastle so Alan Shearer is forever forgotten. Alan who?!
"No, he's been too famous, too good forever! Get rid of him, he's boring on telly, he's boring in real life! Harry Kane is a nice man, go to Newcastle, beat Alan Shearer's record and win something that Alan Shearer didn't.
"He's one of my besties. I hate my friends who are better than me at anything, and he's better at goalscoring than me. He's got no personality like me, but he was a good goalscorer and I don't like it.
"I don't want him to be a hero, it winds me up because that's all he's got on me. He's boring, he can't do anything other than score goals better than me. I'm better than him at golf, my banter is better, I'm a nicer person, he just scores goals and I want Harry Kane to beat him so he can't bring that up every time in an argument."
