Residents in a Nottinghamshire village have mixed views over a planning application for new facilities in the area. A planning application has been submitted to change the use of a vacant building in East Bridgford for use as a day nursery, fitness centre, village cafe, dog grooming parlour or to provide health services.
Many villagers are pleased with the submitted plans, and feel that any additional facilities to the area will be a positive thing. However, some residents are concerned over potential problems with parking and increased traffic to the area depending on what is built.
When he was told about the plans, father of two, Andrew Birkin, 46, of East Bridgford, said: "Yeah I think that it would be good. I think the area does need a cafe, I think it would get a lot of business from it."
