The first paying customers have boarded the first official Edinburgh tram heading from the city centre to Newhaven.
The highly-anticipated link officially opened at 12pm on Wednesday, June 7, following years of construction, but punters were pictured in queues to get on to the first tram to travel on the new route.
Rigorous testing has taken place in recent months to ensure the track is completely safe and reliable, but Wednesday marked the first official journey for passengers to board.

On Tuesday, we managed to bag a sneak peak onboard a tram heading from Picardy Place to Newhaven ahead of the official launch, and even raced it on a Lothian Bus heading in the same direction to see which one was quickest.
As well as paying customers, Edinburgh Council leader Cammy Day was among councillors and representatives from Edinburgh Trams to witness the landmark occasion.
Pictures taken inside one of the carriages show it packed full of excited customers eager to get a taste of the action for the first time. Dozens were also seen waiting at the Picardy Place stop, which opened to the public for the first time on Wednesday.
The route, which has been under construction since November 2019, has now opened, making part of the city accessible by tram for the first time in 67 years.
The trams, which are set to run from Edinburgh Airport all the way to Newhaven, will run from 6am until midnight seven days a week in the capital.
Trams will run from Edinburgh Airport, Gyle Centre, Edinburgh Park and Murrayfield Stadium across the city centre to 8 brand new stops conveniently located along Leith Walk, The Shore, directly outside the doors of Ocean Terminal and at Newhaven.
