Exact time snow to arrive in Nottingham as 15 hours on one day forecast

Nottingham is potentially set to be hit by 15 hours of snow and sleet showers as a big chill hits the country. The wintry weather could arrive in Nottingham on Sunday morning (March 5) with BBC Weather forecasters predicting that sleet could be falling for two hours from 9am.

The Met Office is also predicting widespread snowfall later on this month - meaning the temperature in March will be staying low for a while. The mercury is expected to drop to around 0C on Sunday, and snow is forecast to arrive overnight from Monday to Tuesday.

According to the BBC, the first snow will fall in Nottingham at around 3am on Tuesday - and then the broadcaster is predicting that there is a 15 hour window until 5pm when it could fall - either in the form of snow or sleet. Temperatures at this time will be as low as -2C.

Thursday, March 9, will again be cold 1C, but it will feel even more chilly due to the northerly winds. Snow and sleet could potentially arrive at 6pm and continue until 11pm according to the BBC. Then more potentially could arrive on Saturday, March 11.

The Met Office has said that there will be ‘some wintry showers in the north and east’ for the period of March 5 - 14 with “an increasing chance of it turning more unsettled later with spells of rain or snow becoming more likely. Temperatures overall will be below average, but gradually trend up through the period.”

Looking further ahead there could be even more cold weather with the Met Office saying about the period from March 15-29: “Confidence is very low during this period in general. But late seasonal wintry showers are expected across the country as milder air becomes less likely to affect the UK.

"This may also bring some dry weather at times, especially in western regions. Rain and strong winds are likely in the south, rain turning heavy at times.

"Colder and drier conditions are expected in the north, with wintry showers and a risk of heavy snow at times. Temperatures overall will likely be below normal, but milder in the south through the middle of March and perhaps beyond.”
