Merseyside is set to be hit with thunder this afternoon, according to forecasters.
The Met Office is reporting that thunder showers may hit Liverpool, Wirral and beyond from 2pm today, on Tuesday, July 11. The chance of thunder is on the cards, from around 2pm until 5pm.
Rain and thunder showers are expected to stop at around 8pm and the evening will then remain fairly dry, according to the Met Office. The weather over the next few days is set to be unsettled, with high temperatures of around 20C but also the risk of thunder and hail.

The Met Office forecast for today reads: "Another unsettled day with sunny spells and showers, these showers could turn heavy with a risk of thunder and hail. Another fairly breezy day with similar temperatures to Monday. Maximum temperature 20C."
Into the evening, forecasters say: "Any showers gradually easing into the evening to leave a dry night with some clear spells. Turning cloudier by dawn with further showers or spells of rain. Feeling cooler. Minimum temperature 10C."
Tomorrow, on Wednesday, July 12, there will be further sunshine and scattered showers. Forecasters report that showers could continue to be heavy and thundery at times and it will be breezy , particularly over high ground.
