Exact hour Storm Eunice will end in Bristol amid red weather warning

Storm Eunice is battering Britain - including Bristol. The red weather warning for wind in place across the West Country means we're advised to stay indoors.

Then again, even if we wanted to leave, there's little to do - many schools are shut, the buses are all cancelled, and many cultural attractions, such as the museum, are closed. It all feels a little like lockdown, doesn't it?

So when will the madness end? Well, right now, the Met Office's weather warning for Bristol is either red or amber, depending on where in Bristol you are. That's set to be downgraded to amber for all of Bristol at midday on Friday, February 18.

Then, from Saturday morning, that warning goes down again to yellow. Then from Sunday onwards there are no further warnings in place for the foreseeable future.

In short, then, the worst of the storm will be over by this afternoon. It'll improve again Saturday morning, then be all but gone by Sunday. So batten down the hatches for the next couple of days and emerge in to the, er, rain (but much less wind) on Sunday.
