Scots will be roasted by more hot weather this week according to the latest forecast by the Met Office, which says temperatures could exceed 30C in some areas on Friday.
The Met Office has stated the hot spell won't be as extreme as the record-breaking weather last month, but it could officially become a heatwave. The service defines a heatwave in Scotland as 25C and above - a threshold that could be surpassed by the end of the week.
Temperatures in Scotland will broadly be in the high 20s, the weather service has warned. The hottest temperatures will hit southeastern areas where the mercury could reach the low 30s.
