Snow is forecasted to hit Edinburgh as temperatures are set to plummet.
BBC Weather warn that heavy snowfall will hit the city next week as five days of snow and sleet are expected with temperatures dropping to -4C on some days.
The Met Office added that 'arctic maritime airmass' will bring snow showers to Scotland from Monday with 'widespread freezing conditions overnight'. While the snow showers are forecasted to be light on Monday, BBC expects heavy snow will hit the capital by Wednesday morning, March 7.

According to BBC Weather, sleet will start to fall from Sunday (March 5) night at around 9pm with light winds that will follow through into Monday. Sleet is expected to continue throughout the day until 5pm. Then the temperatures will drop to 2C and snow showers will begin.
Snow will continue to fall through the night and into Tuesday morning. As temperatures rise from -1C to 4C through the day, that will turn to sleet in the afternoon but as the evening hits, so will the snow showers.
Heavy snow is forecasted to hit Edinburgh by Wednesday, March 7. From 6am, as temperatures sit at -2C, heavy snow is expected to fall throughout the morning before easing at 1pm when it reaches 3C.
Deputy Chief Meteorologist, Chris Almond, said: “Although we’ve moved into meteorological Spring there will be a distinctly wintry feel to our weather next week. Very cold air will spread across the UK bringing snow showers even to sea level in the north on Monday and these snow showers could spread further south on Tuesday.
“With freezing overnight temperatures and the risk of ice it is likely weather warnings will be issued for Monday and Tuesday once the detail of potential impacts becomes clearer, so keep an eye on the Met Office forecast.”
