Eagle FC has added another ex-UFC fighter to their roster.
Former UFC welterweight Impa Kasanganay has signed with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s promotion Eagle FC and is expected to make his debut on a March 11 card which features a 165-pound matchup between Kevin Lee and Diego Sanchez and is expected to serve as Eagle FC 46.
A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed the signing to MMA Junkie after an initial report by MMA Fighting.
Kasanganay (9-2), a “Dana White’s Contender Series” graduate, split his four UFC appearances before subsequently getting released by the promotion. The 28-year-old Sanford MMA fighter picked up wins over Maki Pitolo and Sasha Palatnikov and suffered stoppage losses to Joaquin Buckley and Carlston Harris.
Kasanganay was let go less than three months after dropping a first-round TKO to Harris at UFC Fight Night 192 in September but has now found a new home with Eagle FC, who make their U.S. event debut this month.
Tyrone Spong vs. Sergei Kharitonov will headline Eagle FC 44, which takes place Jan. 28 at FLXcast Arena in Miami and streams live on the FLXcast app.
