Former Tennessee Titans and current Philadelphia Eagles punter Brett Kern has a chance to win the first Super Bowl ring of his career on Sunday, but he may not take part in the actual game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
On Saturday, the Eagles announced they have activated their starting punter, Arryn Siposs, from injured reserve. Siposs was placed on the list after Week 14 due to an ankle injury, which led to the Kern signing.
It hasn’t been confirmed yet, but there’s a very real chance that Kern, who has struggled with the Eagles, will be inactive for the Super Bowl in favor of Siposs.

While out with the injury, Siposs was replaced by the 36-year-old Brett Kern, who has averaged 40.8 yards per kick with a 36.6 net — both career lows for the 15-year veteran.
His 40.8 is the lowest by an Eagles punter since Reggie Hodges averaged 36.8 during the 2005 season and was replaced by Sean Landeta.
The good news is, even if Kern is inactive, he will still get a ring, but it would no doubt be disappointing for him not to play in the actual game.
Kern isn’t the only former Titan with a shot for a Super Bowl ring on Sunday. Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown and Chiefs practice squad defensive back Ugo Amadi are two others. Amadi won’t be active for the game, though.
