A Newcastle property firm is marketing former timeshare holiday lodges in Northumberland that have been put up for sale.
Property consultancy Avison Young has been appointed to market 37 leasehold holiday lodges at Slaley Hall, near Hexham, on behalf of Hutchinson’s Trustee Limited.
The strategic real estate advisors are working alongside the board of trustees to find one or several buyers, for either all the lodges or a combination of them in lots.

The holiday lodges were originally built and operated as a timeshare development at the four-star Slaley Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa Resort, but Avison Young said Slaley Hall Lodges are now being sold on an “unencumbered leasehold basis, subject to the determination of arbitration in relation to the winding-up of the Owner’s Club."
With UK staycations enjoying something of a boom time, the Newcastle company expects to see a lot of interest in the homes, saying they provide the perfect opportunity to invest in the British holiday and tourism sector.
No guide price is being disclosed, but the lodges have an annual projected income of between £1.4m and £1.7m
Surrounded by woodland, golf courses and farmland, the lodges are held on five separate titles and are not for sale individually.
Richard Baldwin, director at Avison Young said: “Slaley Hall Lodges are in a beautiful part of the country and offer a great home away from home. Over the last few years, we have seen an incredible rise in staycation demand across the UK and now, more than ever, people are valuing holidays in Britain.
“Purchasing the lodges whether in totality or in the lots, offers a great opportunity for a party or consortium to buy into, and operate in, a market that has seen exponential growth.”
There are six different purpose-built holiday lodge types across the portfolio, each varies in in size and accommodation provision and all have saunas. They are offered to the market for immediate holiday use. Each lodge is finished to a high standard, including a full inventory of furnishings, fixtures, fittings and equipment.
