A former teacher will face court after being charged with indecently assaulting a schoolboy in Sydney's west in the early 1980s.
The 78-year-old man was extradited from Queensland on Thursday after he was arrested in Cairns the previous day.
Police allege he sexually abused the 13-year-old several times at a school in the suburb of Auburn in 1980 and 1981 while employed as a teacher at the facility.
He was charged with six counts of indecent assault on a male following a year-long investigation into alleged historical sexual abuse offences at the school.
The man was refused bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Friday.
