Former Sunderland midfielder Lee Cattermole has joined Middlesbrough's academy setup as the club's U18 lead coach.
Cattermole began his career at Boro before moving on to Wigan Athletic and then joining Sunderland 12 months later in 2009, going on to make more than 260 appearances in his decade-long spell on Wearside.
He left Sunderland in 2019 and spent one season in Holland with VVV-Venlo before calling time on his playing career and taking his coaching badges.

Now the 33-year-old will succeed Mark Tinkler in charge of Boro's U18 side, with Tinkler having moved to coach the club's U23s following Graeme Lee's departure to take the reins at Hartlepool United.
Boro academy manager Craig Liddle said: "We're delighted to welcome Lee back to the club.
"He brings strong leadership qualities, high standards and he has a wealth of experience in the game.
"Obviously, he came through our academy and is a great example to the young players we have here now.
"He followed the same development path as them, understands what they are going through, and knows what it takes to have a good career in the game at the highest level."
