Dame Arlene Phillips has revealed that her young granddaughter was rushed to hospital following a terrifying health scare.
The former Strictly Come Dancing judge, 79, took to Instagram to share her relief that one-year-old Emme Bow is now on the mend, along with a picture of the adorable toddler.
“My world was turned upside down this week when my beautiful granddaughter #emmebow was rushed into hospital and my daughter @alanastewartmama had no idea why she was rapidly loosing weight and like a little rag doll,” the choreographer penned.
Adding: “Fortunately the hospital identified what was wrong which was the result of a virus and now she’s home and really on the mend which has lifted my spirits enormously and I’m totally ready to get into my rehearsals on @houseofflamenka full of smiles.”
Alana, who is also mum to Lila Primrose, three, is the oldest of Phillips’ two daughters and is from her marriage to ex-husband Danny Noble.
Lancashire-born Phillips took part in last year’s series of I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here.
She became the oldest contestant in the competition’s history when she entered Grwych Castle, beating past father of the camp Stanley Johnson, who was 77 when he took part.
Phillips - who left Strictly in 2008 amid an ageism row - made another return to prime time TV earlier this year as a guest judge on ITV’s Dancing on Ice.
