Ex-Sex Pistols singer John Lydon to play Dublin's National Stadium

Ex Sex Pistols star John Lydon is gearing up to come to Dublin to play the National Stadium on June 9 with his band Public Image Ltd.

Tickets are on sale now for €34.99 and are available through selectivememory.ie.

This comes as a whirlwind of controversy around the band arising from the new Disney Plus series Pistol, which chronicles the band's impressive career.

Public Image Ltd is known for its rebellious image and June sees the band play in Dublin for the first time in four years. They will be supported by Dublin fans Melt.

Public Image Ltd's music has earned them an impressive five UK top 20 singles and five UK top 20 albums.

The band has seen some shifts in its line-up with John being at the helm since their debut album First Issue in 1978 through to 1992’s That What Is Not.

Following a 17 year hiatus, Lydon reactivated PiL in 2009 by taking them back on the road worldwide.

After the premiere of the Disney Plus series Pistol, John labelled the series' director Danny Boyle an "a***hole" in a rather chaotic interview. Speaking to Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary on ITV's This Morning, John blasted producers of the show for allegedly leaving him out of the development of the series.
